5/13/2024-Local 814 Update:
The contract has been extended to provide an opportunity for the negotiation teams from both the hospital and the Union to convene and discuss the Union’s recent proposal, which comprehensively addresses all points of concern. This also allows for discussions regarding the strike petition that was endorsed by members during the contract voting process.
Additional details will be shared as they are made available.
Local 814 Update:
We wanted to inform you that the proposed contract for a successor Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) was not approved by our members.
To give us more time to negotiate with the Hospital, an extension of the current contract has been signed through May 7th. Our negotiation team resumed discussions on Tuesday, April 16th, taking into account all the feedback we've received. We'll provide further updates as we have more details to share.
Update 4/29/2024
The negotiation teams have met for five sessions since the contract was voted down on April 12th. They resumed negotiations on April 16th, and are trying to settle a contract that will get ratified by the membership.
Parties are re-addressing wages, ratification bonus, longevity bonus, benefit premiums, attendance policy, and movement in pay grades. The bargaining team is committed to spending as much time as is necessary to reach the best deal for the members.
Update April 30, 2024
After the attempt to ratify the agreement on April 12 did not succeed, the negotiations teams have held six more sessions. However, these sessions concluded today with no agreement in place. While the employer's proposal was revised, the changes were not sufficient to secure a tentative agreement. We will conduct a vote on the employer's last proposal next week, with more details on times and locations to be shared as they become available. You will be receiving an email with a copy of the hospital’s last proposal and a summary on Thursday to review.
